When I decided to attempt a Guinness World Record by throwing 147,248punches in 24 hours, it wasn’t just about the title or the numbers. It was about proving a point—to my three little girls and to anyone watching—that extraordinary achievements are NOT just for extraordinary people. This record was my way of showing that with hard work, dedication, and the right mindset, anything is possible.

Why I Did It

I wanted to show my daughters that extraordinary things don’t happen by accident. They happen to those who set their minds to something and work their asses off to achieve it. I wanted them to see that success isn’t about being born special or having some rare talent. It’s about grit, perseverance, and refusing to quit.

I’m not “extraordinary.” I’m a lad from Sunderland, a city in the UK. I didn’t finish school and used to work on a burger van. But I worked hard—relentlessly hard—on what mattered to me. That’s how I ended up winning an Olympic medal in boxing, growing a massive online following, and helping people all over the world teach boxing fitness through my online courses at Boxing Fitness Academy.

The Numbers Behind the Record

This record wasn’t just about throwing punches—it was a test of endurance, mental toughness, and willpower. Here’s how the numbers broke down:
• Total punches: 146,742
• Punches per hour: 6,114
• Punches per minute: 102
• Punches per second: 1.6

Keeping this pace for 24 hours straight was brutal. My arms felt like lead, my body screamed to stop, but I pushed through—because I knew my daughters were watching.

From the Olympics to Online Coaching

Winning an Olympic medal was one of the proudest moments of my life, but I didn’t want to stop there. I wanted to share everything I’ve learned about boxing and fitness with others, which is why I started creating boxing education videos on YouTube. Over the years, that passion has grown into one of the largest boxing fitness communities online.

Through my website, Boxing Fitness Academy, I teach personal trainers and gym owners how to add boxing fitness to their programs. My goal is to make boxing fitness accessible to everyone, whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced coach looking to level up.

Teaching My Daughters About Grit

When things got tough during the record attempt, I thought about my daughters. I wanted them to see that their dad doesn’t quit when things get hard—that he keeps going, even when every part of him wants to stop. I wanted them to learn that the only way to do something extraordinary is to push through the discomfort and keep fighting.

The Bigger Message

This record wasn’t just for me—it was for anyone who’s been told they’re not enough. It was for everyone who’s ever felt like giving up on a dream. If a lad from Sunderland who worked on a burger van can go on to win an Olympic medal, build a huge online community, and set a Guinness World Record, then what’s stopping you?
